Welcome to
The Bright Pond Bible Study
God’s Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105
Who We Are
We are an interdenominational group of women who gather together weekly during the school calendar year to study the Bible from a Christian perspective. In 1997, four women decided to meet at a home on Bright Pond Lane in Reston to examine the Old Testament book of Proverbs. Ten years later, registration has grown to over one hundred. Some of us are seasoned in Bible Study and some of us are new to it all. We are a loving, friendly group of women who realize our need for God's guidance in our lives. We happily welcome friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Also, we host an annual Christmas celebration called “Evening in December.”
The Bright Pond Bible Study is taught, coordinated, and supported by volunteers. There are no costs other than the book we cover during the particular semester. This is a fun, casual, practical, social and inspirational time. What busy woman doesn’t need some refreshment for her soul? Come and be encouraged.
Being that we’ve outgrown three homes, we moved the study to Dranesville United Methodist Church. We are grateful to be able to use this quaint and historic facility since it is just a mile from North Reston and conveniently close to Great Falls, Sterling, Herndon and east Loudoun County. The church has also very graciously offered the use of their nursery, and so, The Bright Pond Bible Study is pleased to offer childcare.

Why Study the Bible?
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds.
Deuteronomy 11:18
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
2 Timothy 3: 18, 16
The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
Blessed is the one who reads the word, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it.
Revelation 1:3
The entrance of God’s word gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
Psalm 119:130
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes….
Romans 1:16
